Captain Sam O'Briant was raised in the coastal region of North Carolina - hence the boat being named "Tarheel". A ten pound Rockfish (Striper) won him his first fishing trophy at the age of 10 although he's been fishing since he was four.
	Captain O'B graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a degree in Marine Botany / Oceanography. He has fished from Michigan to California but has the most experience on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts from North Carolina southward.
Captain O'B has been in the Southwest Florida area since 1982 and has been a licensed guide in the area since 1994.
